The team at Nuffield Health Newcastle recently added to their Fujifilm portfolio of radiology equipment when a new AMULET Innovality mammography system was installed.

“The AMULET Innovality is the mammography system of choice for Nuffield Health” said Amanda Cumersdale, Radiology Manager, “and when we reviewed the specifications and saw the system for ourselves we were in full agreement.  We were looking for a system that offered good diagnostic quality, better imaging for cores and specimens, and the capability for tomosynthesis as this is something we hope to offer in the future.”

“We have found the AMULET Innovality to be very user friendly and all the staff became confident with it very quickly.  The paddle exchange is easy and the image quality is good.  The radiologists are very pleased with the images, and the iAEC has proven invaluable for implant imaging.  We have also found that glandular dose is reduced.”

“Our patients have commented about a more comfortable experience too.  The Fit Sweet compression paddle with flexibility at the chest wall has been positively commented on by our regular patients, and the detector shape also lends itself to a better examination as there is less stretch on the axilla.  We are delighted to have a machine that gives ladies a better experience and improves their compliance during the mammogram, resulting in a better examination and better image quality.”

“We have found the whole process – from procurement, to install, to training – was really well supported by Fujifilm.  We had previous experience of the Fujifilm service from our DR room procurement, so this helped with our decision on mammography.  Any queries or issues were resolved promptly, well informed Applications Specialists offered excellent support, and the engineers were friendly and helpful – nothing was too much trouble and they all supported us every step of the way.”

Patient comfort is a key priority for Fujifilm.  The Fit Sweet compression paddle was rated as excellent (75%) or good (25%) by respondents in the NHSBSP evaluation, and 56% of patients reported a reduction in pain when the Comfort Comp feature was used, which triggers controlled decompression.  Fast workflow speeds and easy positioning tools ensure patients spend less time in compression, and the ergonomic design provides support and comfort during the examination to aid relaxation and reduce patient tension which can increase pain.
